ByteXL Access Issues

We are currently experiencing access issues with ByteXL due to ISP-related connectivity problems affecting users on JIO and Airtel networks.

Current Situation

Starting from the evening of June 30th, we have been facing connectivity issues with major Indian ISPs:

  • June 30th: JIO users began experiencing problems accessing ByteXL.
  • June 31st: JIO issues were resolved; however, Airtel users started facing similar connectivity issues.

Root Cause

These issues occurred due to recent government-mandated website blocks. Unfortunately, instead of blocking only the targeted websites, the ISPs mistakenly blocked the originating IP addresses.

ByteXL uses CloudFlare for security, and CloudFlare by design uses shared IPs among different websites. When the originating IPs were blocked, it resulted in the blockage of all websites sharing the same originating IP from CloudFlare, including ByteXL.

Our Response

We are actively working with both JIO and Airtel to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Our team is in direct communication with the ISPs to ensure that ByteXL's IP addresses are properly whitelisted and accessible to all users.

Temporary Workaround

Until the access is fully restored to normal, we strongly recommend installing and using Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 DNS service:

Why This Works

Using 1.1.1.1 DNS bypasses the ISP's DNS servers, which are currently returning incorrect responses for ByteXL's domain. This allows you to connect directly to our services without interference.

Next Steps

We understand this situation is frustrating and apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please note that this is beyond our direct control, but we are doing everything possible to restore normal access for all users.
